The Protech Knives SBR (Short Bladed Rockeye) is a utilitarian, compact, every-day-carry version of the Les George iconic Rockeye model, retaining the classic design in a smaller package. Like all Protech knives, the SBR offers modern materials, high-tech innovative manufacturing, an advanced coil spring mechanism, and quality American production. This “Prototype” SBR has a DLC coated S35VN blade, black hard anodized aluminum frame and USN black and green G10 top.

Blade: The SBR comes with a compact, EDC friendly blade of American CPM-S35VN stainless steel offering plenty of cutting edge while still retaining the classic full-bellied lines of the Rockeye. A spine swedge delivers a fine point for piercing power and detail work. Durable black DLC or Diamond-Like Carbon offers a discreet and corrosion resistant finish. The blade deploys via a button operated coil spring mechanism for fast, smooth deployment.

Handle: The ergonomic handle consists of a 6061-T6 black hard anodized aluminum frame and layered G10 top that provides a comfortable grip and smooth pocket transition. Made for the USN 2021 Gathering XII, providing “G XII” is milled on the top indicating the year of production and providing added traction. “Prototype” is engraved on the frame in white. The smooth, reliable button lock mechanism provides secure lockup and ease of operation, ideal for this highly utilitarian design.

CPM-S35VN: Modified CPM-S30V designed for improved toughness (15-20%) and ease of machining and polishing. Well-balanced for daily use, S35VN has a slight decrease in edge retention and higher corrosion resistance, close to AISI 420.
