The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) double action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes a more compact, everyday carry option that is as robust and ready for action as its larger counterpart. This version has a black contoured handle and stonewashed, fully serrated M390 Tanto blade.

Blade: Equipped with a rugged stonewashed finish, the M390 Tanto blade has a fully serrated edge for tough, fibrous materials with a plain edge tip for piercing and detail cutting. Double action automatic mechanism, operation is fast, smooth, and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both positions to reduce wear.

Handle: Smooth, black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handles have contoured edges creating a comfortable feel in-hand, smooth pocket transitions and a lighter more aesthetic design. Several areas of strategic milled jimping around the handle add traction. Microtech’s proprietary hardware completes the construction, along with glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.

Carries via a right hand, tip-down, stainless steel deep carry clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance, while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
