The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) dual action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes an even friendlier every day carry option. This version has an orange anodized aluminum handle and a plain edge, black coated CTS-204P Tanto blade.

Blade: The Tanto blade has a single, razor sharp plain edge with a discreet and durable, two-tone finish (black Cerakote on the grinds and satin on the flats). The 3.125 inch blade is made from high performance, CTS-204P stainless steel deploying with a double action automatic mechanism for fast, smooth operation. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: The smooth, hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has visually appealing chamfered edges creating a comfortable feel in-hand and smooth pocket transition. Several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides enhance traction for a secure grip. Construction is completed with Microtech’s black proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.

Carries via a right hand, tip-down, stainless steel deep carry clip.

CTS-204P: A highly wear-resistant, powder metallurgy stainless steel, CTS-204P has some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance available. CTS-204P is similar in performance to CPM-20CV and Bohler’s M390.
