The double action out-the-front Microtech Ultratech automatic sets the standard for the category with its slim yet robust built and lightweight carry. The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size) makes an even friendlier everyday carry option with the same great performance. This version has a black contoured handle and an Apocalyptic finished M390 double edge blade with one plain and one fully serrated edge.

Blade: Equipped with a rugged Apocalyptic finish, the double edge blade has two razor sharp cutting edges: one clean slicing plain edge and one fully serrated edge for tough, fibrous materials. Premium, M390 stainless steel offers excellent performance for daily use with minimal maintenance. Blasted and tumbled, the Apocalyptic grinds hide wear and are non-reflective, contrasting nicely with the classy satin flats. Double action automatic operation is fast, smooth  and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: A smooth, black hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has contoured edges for a comfortable feel in-hand and smooth pocket transition while strategically placed grooved texturing around the outsides enhance traction for secure grip. Construction is completed with Microtech’s proprietary Apocalyptic hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number, date of production and logo.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
