The Ultratech dual action out the front automatic knife from Microtech sets the standard for the category. This version has a black contoured handle and stonewashed, partially serrated, Double Edged, M390 blade.

Blade: Equipped with a heavy stonewashed finish, the dagger blade has partially serrated cutting edges. Made from high performance, Bohler M390 stainless steel the dagger-like blade has an ultrafine tip and just under 3.5 inches (8.89 cm) of razor sharp cutting edge. The Ultratech features a double action operating mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed positions to reduce wear delivering smooth and fast action.

Handle: Smooth, black hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum has contoured edges creating not only a comfortable feel in-hand but a smooth transition in and out of your pocket. There are several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outer edge to enhance traction. This lighter more ergonomic handle design is easy on the hands and eyes. The handle’s construction is completed with Microtech’s proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and blasted pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
