The Microtech Socom Elite Automatic offers the high-end performance Microtech is known for in an automatic, full-size tactical folder. This Signature Series version features a tumbled, bronze coated Spike Grind spear point blade of Bohler M390 and Bronze Hardware.Â
Brand new item direct from Microtech Knives, USA.
Blade:Â The Socom Elite sports a beefy 4-inch blade of Bohler’s high performance M390 with a killer tumbled bronze coated finish. A saber grind with slightly sharpened (spiked grind) upper tip offers an excellent combination of slicing performance and powerful piercing capabilities while retaining a high level of toughness. The blade is fast and smooth on a ceramic ball bearing pivot and is deployed via the textured button on the handle with fast, automatic action.
Handle:Â Constructed of durable aluminum, the handles are both lightweight and tough, finished in a black hard anodization for a discreet look. Black traction inserts deliver security in the hand along with a jimped thumb ramp and jimping along both the top and bottom of the tapered pommel end. The textured button that deploys the blade also disengages the rock solid plunge lock that delivers security for serious use. The Socom Elite Signature Series is completed with Bronzed Torx Hardware, right hand tip-down pocket clip and hardened steel glass breaker insert.
Each Socom Signature Elite is individually serialized and dated on the pocket clip.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
