The Tactical Combat Troodon out the front automatic knife by Microtech is a substantial tool, popular among military, law enforcement and first responders. Its large size lends itself to situations requiring a more robust cutting tool while remaining slender enough to keep on your person daily. Named after a bird-like dinosaur from the Campanian Age and ready to strike. This version comes with a black M390 double edge blade, matching aluminum handle and black tactical hardware.
Brand new, direct from Microtech Knives, USA.
Blade: A wide spear point blade which has been double ground and sharpened to a razor edge on both sides sports dual plain edges delivering the clean cutting performance along the length of both edges. The Bohler M390 blade steel was chosen for its high levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance and finished with a durable, black poly-ceramic Cerakote finish over the standard machine satin on the grinds. To operate the fast, smooth, double action automatic mechanism simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.
Handle: Black hard coated 6061-T6 aluminum offers 5.25 inches of handle, excluding the breaker, substantial enough for even the largest or gloved hands. It has a smooth feel with machined grooves perfectly placed on both outer sides. This tactical version is built with Microtech’s Black proprietary hardware, integrated glass breaker end and pocket clip. Each is individually numbered and dated around the Microtech ‘Talon’ logo on the front of the knife.
Bohler M390: A popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its exceptional edge retention, M390 has a good corrosion resistance for minimal maintenance. Another great feature of this steel is the ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
