Cold Steel Recon Tanto represents over 30 years of development and refinement into making a superior combative fixed blade. This “American Tanto” blade shape has proven itself over other reinforced point styles making it ideal for SWAT team members or military units. With a reinforced tip for tough jobs this version comes with a black powder coated SK-5 Carbon Steel blade, Kray-Ex polymer handle and molded polymer sheath.

Blade: An up-swept, high carbon steel blade is ground with a reinforced American Tanto tip to stay sharp even when encountering modern body armor. SK-5 carbon steel offers a good balance of durability while being easy to maintain in the field. Coated with Cold Steel’s black power coat finish, the blade is non-reflective for discreet use as well as offering enhanced corrosion resistance.

Handle: Kray-Ex™ textured rubber provides an all-weather grip with integral finger guard for safety and confidence in the grip under any conditions. The neutral handle design is comfortable in multiple grip positions while a hollow brass tube is provided for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Includes a Secure-Ex molded sheath with removable nylon drop loop with snap closure.

SK5 Carbon Steel: Water hardening spring steel used in knives, other cutting instruments and tools. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
