Manufactured by Reate Knives and designed by Ramon Chaves, the Chaves Ultramar series offers the same functional, ergonomic designs and stout build quality as Ramon’s customs in a production platform. The Redencion Street titanium frame lock is a scaled down version of the full size 229. This compact folder is ideal for daily carry when tank like reliability is a must. This version comes with a tumbled full titanium handle and satin finished M390 Tanto blade.
Brand new, direct from Chaves Knife and Tool.
Blade: The thick M390 blade rides smooth on a ceramic bearing pivot for fast and flawless deployment via the dual thumb studs. A sleek Tanto profile gets a modern treatment with satin finished compound grinds, a flat ground point and swedge for durability in piercing and a hollow ground primary edge for powerful slicing. Broad spine jimping offers plenty of traction in heavy use.
Handle: A blasted and tumbled full titanium handle slabs and partial back spacer form the hefty handle that offers a solid, secure grip. The subtle curves of the design work in multiple grips with comfortable chamfered edges. The integral frame lock is smooth and solid thanks to the hardened steel lock face insert and over travel stop.
Carries via a right hand milled titanium clip. Skull clip installed, plain clip included.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high level edge retention and corrosion resistance. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives, M390 is relatively easy to sharpen, with toughness on par with 440C/154CM.
