Manufactured by Reate Knives and designed by Ramon Chaves, the Chaves Ultramar series offers the same functional, ergonomic designs and stout build quality as Ramon’s customs in a production platform. The Redencion 229 titanium frame lock is a full size daily carry folder when you need uncompromising durability and performance. This version comes with a tumbled full titanium handle and satin finished M390 Tanto blade.
Brand new, direct from Chaves Knife and Tool.
Blade: The thick M390 blade rides smooth on a ceramic bearing pivot for fast and flawless deployment via the dual thumb studs. Equipped with a two-tone satin finish the compound ground Tanto blade has a flat ground point and swedge for strength in piercing and a hollow ground primary edge for powerful slicing. Broad spine jimping offers plenty of traction in heavy use.
Handle: A blasted and tumbled full titanium handle slabs and partial back spacer form the hefty handle that offers a solid, secure grip. The subtle curves of the design work in multiple grips with comfortable chamfered edges with nearly 4 inches of grip area. The integral frame lock is smooth and solid thanks to the hardened steel lock face insert and over travel stop.
Carries via a right hand milled titanium clip. Skull clip installed, plain clip included.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high level edge retention and corrosion resistance. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives, M390 is relatively easy to sharpen, with toughness on par with 440C/154CM.
